Making our website easier to use

We want everyone to be able to use this website. We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

We have carried out a preliminary accessibility review. Further testing and improvements are underway, and we have not yet established that the website meets all WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements.

Initial checks covered selected parts of the Home page, Request a Care Assessment form, Make a Professional Referral form and website footer, including:

• keyboard navigation and visible keyboard focus;
• page headings, image descriptions and form labels;
• age confirmation and conditional form messages;
• footer links and contact information.

These checks covered a sample of website features and were not a complete accessibility assessment.

Our care assessment and professional referral forms are for people requiring care who are aged 18 or over.

If you select “No” or “Unable to confirm” when asked to confirm the person's age, further questions and the submission option will not be displayed. If you are unable to confirm their age, please contact us for guidance.

We are continuing to review:

• keyboard access throughout the website;
• mobile layouts, text resizing and display at different zoom levels;
• screen-reader use, including conditional form messages;
• colour contrast;
• form validation, error messages, submission and confirmation;
• background video controls and motion;
• cookie controls and embedded services.

We will update this page as checks are completed and issues are addressed.

Our website links to external services, including the Care Quality Commission website and Google Maps. These websites are managed by other organisations.

Our enquiry forms use FormSubmit to handle submissions. We are reviewing the accessibility of the complete enquiry process, including any service-dependent steps.
